I tried all the programs(except paid ones) to disable acceleration, even the terminal command(which won't work well in the newest versions of MacOS meaning that it also makes the mouse super slow and if you increase its speed via settings the acceleration comes back) and while with LinearMouse and SteelSeries ExactMouse the acceleration disappeared, what welt off was that I still had terrible microlag every single time I moved the mouse: when I started moving it was always a split second behind, and when I stopped it still moved for another split second. I know that this won't fix the problem for many because maybe you got just the mouse and the dongle was in the keyboard, but that's the only thing that worked for me.

Since I got a lot of people still asking both here and in DM's if I managed to fix this issue I want to update you guys on what actually worked for me, in the hope that it helps others too cause, as mentioned here in various post, for me the issue was so bad that I'd often rather do work on my old Acer laptop with broken screen and super slow CPU instead of my brand new M1 Mini for how bad the mouse felt.Īside from the fact that I'm still baffled about Apple's acceleration curve and the fact that they don't add a damn checkbox to disable acceleration natively, what worked for me was using the Logitech dongle included in my keyboard instead of bluetooth. while I'm writing I'm using an USB Razer mouse and I noticed that, with the USB mices, the acceleration is there but not as annoying.yet I still want to get rid of it entirely.

Sorry for the wall of text but I'm really loving working on this Mac but, being new to this OS, I can't fix the issue on my own and I can't "feel" my workflow entirely. I already tried disabling the acceleration with the terminal command(I'm on Monterey and I find it absurd that Apple doesn't provide a checkbox to disable it like every single OS out there) but that put my mouse to the slowest possible setting: I then manually made the cursor speed faster in the Logi Options application but 1) it's not fast enough 2) after I reboot my system the mouse works but Logi Options doesn't see it anymore. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue and, finally, fully enjoy my Mac(which I otherwise love)? It goes from too slow to too fast, and I often end up on the wrong places of the screen due to this: bear in mind that I've also played competitive FPS games back in the day so if I don't feel the mouse, even for work stuff, I go crazy. I'm using an MX Master 3(with the Mac specific version of the MX Keys keyboard) and no matter what I do, it feels "wrong". I'm liking the machine so far but there's one thing driving me crazy to the point I thought about returning it if I don't manage to fix it: the mouse acceleration.įor context I've been using Windows and Linux computers since I was a kid, and no matter which mouse or Windows/Linux version(or distro) I use I can always turn off mouse acceleration and the mouse "feels" the exact same on every OS.but not on Mac.

I've recently bought a base model M1 Mac Mini to use as my new work-at-home machine(I do video editing in DaVinci Resolve, graphics with the Affinity suite and I code websites in VSCode). Hi everyone, I'm writing here because I need help from more experienced Mac users. (EDIT - I put an update on this issue at the end of this post)
